Stevens Towing Company joined forces with @apacatlantic, hired by Haig Point as the Asphalt Contractor, to take on one of the most demanding infrastructure projects in the Southeast. The result? A bigger and better outcome than we ever imagined! Project Highlights: 📍 @haigpointdaufuskie Club and Community - Daufuskie Island, SC (between Hilton Head Island & Savannah)
🚢 6 total barge runs moving trucks and equipment between Hutchinson Island, SC and Daufuskie, SC
🚜 90 total truckloads of asphalt delivered to Haig Point
⏳ 5 intense days of paving and patching for the Golf Course parking lot and cart paths

Stevens Towing Company recently partnered with @SteelAmericaVA, a leading steel fabricator in Norfolk, VA, for the delivery of a newly fabricated 600+ ton caisson to Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, ME. The journey began at Colonna's Shipyard, where Steel America used their large Marine Travel Lift to load the massive caisson onto our ABS deck barge, the Stevens 2501 (250' x 54' x 13'). Once loaded, Steel America secured the caisson for its 4-day transit from Norfolk, through the Chesapeake Bay and C&D Canal, and up to New Hampshire during an optimal weather window. Our Sea Crescent tug towed the barge offshore. Upon arrival, @DonjonMarine used their Chesapeake 1000 floating crane to carefully discharge the caisson into the water for final delivery. The Sea Crescent completed the handoff, delivering the caisson to its final destination at Kittery, ME. This was a very coordinated project with lots of moving parts. We’re honored to play a role in supporting the @USNavy’s Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program (SIOP), which is modernizing shipyards to better maintain their nuclear-powered fleet. #MarineTransportation #Tugboats #Shipyards #SIOP #Navy #Caisson

Stevens Towing Company teamed up with Ceres Barge Line to deliver a load of massive wind tower sections traveling from Houston, TX to Edenton, NC. Ceres managed the ocean towing of 250’ x 72’ ABS deck barges loaded to capacity. Our inland boats navigated the 155-mile inland journey from Morehead City, NC to Edenton, NC navigating 8 bridge transits, narrow clearances, and challenging air draft.
