Recently, we concluded a project working for Resolve Marine to load and deploy a torpedo target for the US Navy. The job entailed using the Sea Crescent, our 95′ ocean tug and our new 250′ x 54′ x 13′ ABS deck barge. We supplied an American 9320 250 ton crawler crane and outfitted the barge with a 4 point anchor mooring system. The plan was to go offshore to a set location and position the metal frame target. The boat and barge were ready and on-site, however, with a very short window of opportunity to perform the exercise, the target could not be situated due to rough sea conditions. In order to perform this job we had to complete a Naval Architecture study to meet the OSHA requirement for crawler cranes on deck barges. This is a perfect example of the unique tasks we are equipped and prepared to perform at any time.
