Congratulations to Kurt Olsen, Vice President of Shipyard Operations at Stevens Towing, on being selected for induction into the 2026 United States Merchant Marine Academy Athletics Hall of Fame.

A standout on the Men’s soccer team, Olsen helped lead the USMMA program to three consecutive NCAA tournaments. He graduated from the Academy in 2013 and will be one of six alumni honored this year during the Academy’s Homecoming and Hall of Fame Weekend.

“I’m incredibly humbled to be inducted into the Hall of Fame,“ Olsen said. “But this recognition will never eclipse the friendships I built at the Academy, the competition that taught me endurance, and the sense of determination that drives me today.” 

Kurt has been a valuable member of the Stevens Towing family for over nine years. After several years sailing as a marine engineer, Olsen came onto Stevens Towing in 2016 as a Shipyard Coordinator before his 2023 promotion to Vice President of Shipyard Operations. In his role, Olsen oversees and optimizes shipyard performance. His leadership, technical expertise, and commitment to operational excellence have been critical to the success of the Stevens Towing shipyard operations.
