The abandoned 120-foot Navy vessel HAZAR had been stuck in Bohicket Creek for 4+ years—but not anymore.

Captain Cameron White and our Stevens Towing salvage team successfully floated and hauled the ship to our Yonges Island shipyard last week.

Keeping South Carolina’s marshes safe hits close to home for Captain White, who has lived in McClellanville all his life.

Look what we found.

An old photo of our heavy lift crane making its way through the iconic Ashley River bridges. Captain Bruce Turley is at the helm, guiding the crane through one of Charleston’s most recognizable landmarks.

Atlantic Coast up on the @marinetravelift at our Yonges Island shipyard.

Built in 2007 by Rodriguez Boat Builders in Bayou La Batre, Alabama, this 99-foot twin-screw tug packs 3,000 horsepower thanks to her Caterpillar 3512B engines. Owned by Dann Marine Towing, she’s equipped for serious coastal towing with an Intercon DD-200 winch and 2,000 feet of 2-inch wire.

We’re proud to support this powerful workboat and help keep her mission-ready for the long haul.

25,000 tons of rock. $38 million in ecosystem benefits. Years of hard work.

Stevens Towing is proud to work with the NC Division of Marine Fisheries and other local partners to help build North Carolina’s oyster sanctuaries - transporting limestone, granite, and reef materials that restore marine life and protect our coasts.

This project is good for the water, it’s good for local jobs, and it’s good the long-term health of our environment.

The Mary Draper — Where Stevens Towing Began

In the late 1800s, brothers Joseph Stanyarne Stevens and William Yates Stevens saw a need for reliable water transportation between Edisto Island and Charleston, SC. With road travel often hampered by flooding and poor conditions, most inland routes depended on carriages and horseback.

In response, the Stevens brothers purchased their first vessel—the Mary Draper—and launched Stevens Brothers Company around 1878. That small boat marked the beginning of a legacy that continues today at Stevens Towing.

Dry docking the Big M Casino boat at our shipyard right before the July 4th holiday.

This 170-foot luxury casino yacht has been cruising Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, for years. With a 52-meter length and 12-meter beam, the Big M Casino is a staple for entertainment on the water. We’re proud to be part of keeping this vessel in top shape for all its passengers.
