Ross Miller is no stranger to the water, having grown up in Beaufort just down the river from our Yonges Island shipyard.

With over 15 years at Stevens Towing, he knows what keeps this work exciting and moving foward.

"We've been around over 100 years, so we've seen a lot and done a lot—and it keeps you coming back for more."

RTGs on the move. Jacksonville, we’ve got you covered.

We hauled four RTG machines from Dames Point to Blount Island using our 2501 barge and Sea Crescent tug. Two shipments, zero problems.

Shoutout to Global Rigging & Transport for the partnership 🤝

Stevens Towing participated in the Town of Meggett's roadside trash pickup project last week alongside Highway SC-165.

Two miles of road was cleaned up covering both sides of the bridge. We look forward to participating in the next trash pickup in the fall.

We recently completed the dry docking of a cutter suction dredge at Yonges Island - our largest dry docking to date! The project required the majority of our workforce in the shipyard to work two 12-hour shifts and utilized roughly 70 personnel onboard the dredge.

From removing the walking spud carriage with our 150-ton Clyde crane, to blasting, steel overhauls, pipe replacements (420+ ft!), electrical upgrades, and major structural repairs — this was an all-hands-on-deck operation.

After weeks on Railway III, the dredge hit the water looking brand new thanks to our Paint Department and is now off to her next mission.

Shoutout to our entire crew for making this milestone possible!

“A Stevens Towing Company team member performs torch cutting during steel repairs in a vessel’s hull structure. Working in tight quarters with heavy material, the job demands focus, experience, and strict adherence to safety protocols. It’s one example of the craftsmanship and technical ability that supports vessel maintenance and keeps maritime operations running smoothly.”

Meet Miss Bettye — a 70-foot towing vessel built to handle serious work on the water. With a beam of 28 feet, a max draft of 10 feet, and an air draft of 41 feet, she’s as solid as they come.

Powered by twin KTA38-M1 engines and pushing 2,000 horsepower through mechanical propulsion, Miss Bettye carries a gross tonnage of 131 and a net tonnage of 105. She’s built for strength, reliability, and performance where it counts.

Not all of our roles require time on the water. Meet Elizabeth Barry from our Human Resources team.

This is Elizabeth’s first time working in the maritime industry, but she’s already making waves behind the scenes. As she puts it, “People grow within this company… and they stay.”

Take a minute to slow down. There’s beauty in the grit - in the quiet strength of a vessel ready to work.

These boats tell stories. You just have to look close enough to see them.
